Vehicle Safety Policy

Commitment to Safe and Responsible Driving Practices

Top Way is committed to ensuring the safety of all employees operating company vehicles. This policy establishes clear standards and expectations for the use of company vehicles to prevent accidents, protect lives, and safeguard company assets. Vehicle-related incidents not only pose significant financial risks but more critically, may result in injury or loss of life.

All employees who are entrusted with operating a Top Way vehicle must do so with the utmost care, professionalism, and in strict adherence to applicable traffic laws and internal safety standards. The manner in which our vehicles are operated reflects our company’s values and commitment to corporate responsibility. As such, a proactive and defensive driving approach is required at all times.

Driver Eligibility & Authorization

  • Authorized Use Only:
Company vehicles are to be operated strictly by employees who have received prior authorization from Top Way. Under no circumstances should a spouse, family member, friend, or unauthorized party operate a company vehicle, except in verified emergency situations or during maintenance/testing by a certified mechanic.

  • License Validity:
Employees must maintain a valid, unrestricted driver’s license appropriate for the class of vehicle they operate. Any suspension, revocation, or restriction of driving privileges must be reported to Human Resources or a designated fleet manager immediately. Continuation of vehicle operation under such conditions may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

  • Driving Record & Violations:
Employees must report all citations or summonses received while operating a Top Way vehicle. This includes moving violations, traffic offenses, or any legal infractions. Failure to report such incidents may result in disciplinary measures.

Incident Reporting Protocol

  • Accident Reporting:
Any incident involving a company vehicle, regardless of severity, must be reported immediately to local law enforcement and Top Way management. This includes accidents involving other vehicles, property damage, or bodily injury. Failure to stop, report, or appropriately document the incident may result in termination.

  • Post-Incident Review:
All reported accidents will be reviewed by Top Way’s Risk and Compliance department. Based on findings, remedial training, probation, or other disciplinary actions may be enforced.

Driver Responsibilities and Conduct

Top Way expects all drivers to embody professionalism, caution, and responsibility while operating company vehicles. The following conduct is mandatory:

  • Comply with all local, regional, and national traffic laws and regulations.

  • Always wear seatbelts and ensure passengers do the same.

  • Never operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substances that impair alertness or judgment.

  • Avoid distracted driving, including the use of mobile phones or electronic devices, unless with approved hands-free technology.

  • Refrain from aggressive driving, speeding, or any conduct that may endanger others or compromise the company’s image.

Ongoing Compliance and Monitoring

Top Way reserves the right to monitor driver performance, conduct random vehicle inspections, and review driving records periodically. Employees operating company vehicles may be subject to mandatory defensive driving training or evaluations based on performance, incident history, or at the discretion of management.

Policy Enforcement

Violation of any provision of this Vehicle Safety Policy will be taken seriously and may result in corrective action, including formal reprimand, suspension of driving privileges, or termination of employment.

Top Way remains committed to promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and respect on the road. All employees are expected to uphold these principles whenever operating a company vehicle.
